We all know that our swimmers are awesome, but how often do you hear that YOU are an awesome parent? Well, you are. Here's why: you're registering your child for one of the greatest summer activities available to children in the Northland! Not only will your children have the opportunity to develop better swimming skills this summer, they'll also develop a stronger sense of self, a sense of team, and hopefully a sense of community.
The Board of Directors of the Walden Swim Team understand that, as parents, you're busy. However, in order for our team's events to run smoothly, we need your help. Once you complete the registration process, we'd like you to go to the EVENTS Tab at the top of your screen and do two very important things for us:
1. Go thru each Weekly Meet listed and let us know which ones you're pretty sure you'll be attending. We understand that plans change, life happens, things come up, but if you know for sure that you're going to be around for specific meets, go ahead and commit to them now so we can let our coaches get a jump start on their planning.
2. Once you've committed to attend the meets, go through and sign up for a volunteer position. We have lots of options available for you. Some parents love to time: if that's your thing, pop out there and pick your lane, your session (first half of the meet or second half), and then revel in the glory that comes with helping your kids have a great summer!
One thing you really ought to know: without parent volunteers, we can't run our meets. If you just can't decide which volunteer position you would prefer, we'll pick one for you. If you are unable to fulfill that comittment, please find a replacement and be sure to remind them before the meet. Per the Agreement you signed at registration, each family should have at least one person signed up to work one session of every meet.
The opportunity to pick your own volunteer positions will go away on April 30, 2010. After that, we'll assign them.
Thanks again for supporting the Hills of Walden Hurricanes and for encouraging all our kids to be GREAT!
